The Advantages of “Disruptive Manufacturing” in Business Today

Every manufacturer needs to continually explore new markets, products and services for their businesses in order to remain competitive. Companies like Polaroid, Kodak, Blackberry and IBM PC division may have rested on their laurels and as a result saw disastrous results. There are successful companies that made a disruptive move in their manufacturing, not only to keep pace with the changing markets but to be innovative, and to survive and thrive.

Gardner Carrick of the Manufacturing Institute has much to say on this topic and will be presenting to our association on May 27 in Bemidji. You’ll want to hear and see this presentation about the state of manufacturing, the technologies impacting manufacturing, the impact of technology adoption on the workforce and, time permitting, solutions to address the current skills gap in manufacturing. The presentation will include information on additive manufacturing (3-D printing).

In addition, TEAM Industries’ Micah Ricke and 360.org’s Karen White have arranged a demonstration of 3-D modeling and printing while touring TEAM’s new engineering operation and mobile lab in the Greater Bemidji Mayflower High Tech facility, downtown Bemidji, for all attendees following the lunch and program. Please join us!
