Lean Six Sigma in Manufacturing Industry: An Overview
Recently, Lean Six Sigma (LSS) has become one of the most common business strategies for deploying continuous improvement in the manufacturing sector. LSS combines the Lean manufacturing philosophy and Six Sigma tools to eliminate the waste of physical resources, time and effort, while assuring quality in production and organizational processes. Lean focuses on reducing non-value-added activities which fall under one of the seven types of wastes: time, inventory, motion, waiting, over production, over processing and defect. On the other hand, Six Sigma is a data-driven methodology that aims to reduce process variation. Dr. Ahmed, an assistant professor of manufacturing management at the University of Minnesota – Crookston, will go through an overview of LSS methodology.
Marketing Has Evolved Over The Years – Has Your Approach Evolved With It?
Most businesses spend a lot of their resources on outbound communication like email blasts, magazine ads, postcards, websites and even social media. They use these platforms to tell their story, which is an important part of building a brand. But it can be tempting to focus entirely on looking out – after all, that’s where new customers are, right? Yes and no. While your outbound messages reach many possible leads, some of the best new business prospects are searching out your website and social media platforms on their own. Hal Halliday, president of Anchor Marketing, will discuss the importance of making your content count and your web presence as welcoming as possible in order to leave a powerful first impression on the internet.
