Workforce Development Opportunities
Dave Lehman, advanced manufacturing business development manager at the North Dakota Department of Commerce, will start off the meeting by sharing the various workforce development resources that his organization has to offer manufacturers.
Optimizing Operations – Improve Throughput Without Adding Personnel
Tim Eggert, owner and president of Sheyenne Tooling & Manufacturing, will provide insight on how his company has improved workflow and increased efficiency without adding additional personnel – and how you can do the same. Throughout his presentation, Eggert will break down his strategy into three parts: 1. Material Flow – evaluation of the path and efficiency of material from the raw material stage through finished goods. 2. Factory Transformation – a before-and-after look at the changes that have been made to improve material flow and manufacturing efficiencies. 3. Information Flow – evaluating processes and improving the flow of information through the factory.
Prior to acquiring Sheyenne Tooling & Manufacturing in 2018, Eggert spent more than 15 years working at Bobcat Company / Doosan, including over five years as plant manager in Litchfield, Minnesota, and Gwinner, North Dakota. Sheyenne Tooling & Manufacturing has established a reputation as a precision component manufacturer for some of the biggest names in American agriculture, including Bobcat, John Deere and CNH.
