University of Minnesota, Crookston Is Seeking Partner Companies For A Lean Production Training Program

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is looking for companies to partner with on a lean production training program it’s developing. Specifically, the university is seeking to find at least one company that is willing to host part or all of the training at its facility and one or more companies to commit to attending the training.

Lean production or lean manufacturing is a philosophy that focuses on reducing unnecessary waste, improving quality, reducing time, and reducing the overall manufacturing costs within a system. This program is being developed by Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed, who works at the University of Minnesota, Crookston as an assistant professor and director of the university’s Manufacturing Management and Quality Management program in its Business Department. He is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certified. 

Dr. Ahmed and the Business Department will be responsible for developing, teaching, facilitating, leading and implementing this 40-hour training program. The program will cover basic, intermediate and advanced knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing.
