Addressing The Challenge Of Finding Technology-focused Employees!

The host location for the December 10 meeting in Grand Forks, North Dakota, will be the Center for Innovation’s Idea Lab, one of the first entrepreneur outreach centers in the nation. The Center provides regional assistance to launch new ventures, commercialize new technologies and secure access to capital from private and public sources. In May 2014, the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education approved the establishment of the University of North Dakota School of Entrepreneurship, one of the first in the country. The school offers new, technology-focused education within business settings.

Tom Kenville will be sharing how UND and the Center for Innovation are preparing students to be resources for regional manufacturers seeking technology-focused employees. Kenville will also be talking about the local opportunities associated with the UAV industry. LaRoyce Batchelor will be sharing her goal-driven approach to creating effective internships that benefit both the employer and the student. After the presentation, attendees will be invited to tour the Center and interact with some of the tenants.
